Everyone wants to see the top attractions while in a city as beautiful and diverse as Cape Town, however, if you are a little adventurous, it can be fun to try a different perspective on some of these popular attractions. . Here are our top 5 suggestions for things to do during  your Cape Town vacation  if you are more of an adrenaline junkie than a cultural vulture…

See this iconic city from the sky

The view from the top of Table Mountain is a real breathtaking area, but if you’ve been there and done it, go one step further with an even more spectacular view: one from the sky. Head to the V&A Waterfront to board a helicopter for a reversal over the Atlantic Ocean and enjoy the view of Table Mountain from above, with the city in front of you – this is definitely a way to add some serious excitement to a already stunning views.

Hang out with the famous penguins of Boulders Beach in a kayak

As much as we like to see these comic animals swinging around the beach, if you want a little more adventure, we would suggest you take a kayak to get a little closer to the water. The sea around Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula is buzzing with life, so if you want to paddle, you never know what you will see. As penguins on Boulders Beach are a permanent colony, sightseeing is practically guaranteed, but you can also spot cape fur seals, dolphins or, between August and October, you may be lucky enough to see whales.

Spend some time with the ocean and snorkel dogs on Seal Island

One of our experts in Africa claims that this is by far the best thing he has ever done during his three years in Cape Town, and it is not difficult to understand why. Head to Hout Bay and jump on a boat with a guide and captain to get as close as you can to the “dogs of the ocean”. As ridiculous as these animals may seem on land, jumping into the water and snorkeling with seals is a truly amazing experience. They turn into a wonderful mix between dog and mermaid, all to the curiosity of a puppy. What more could you want?

4

Explore Long Beach on horseback

While exploring the Cape Peninsula, you may want to stop at one or two beaches to feel the sand and the (very cold) Atlantic Ocean between your toes. However, if a walk on the beach is not enough for you, then you may prefer to get on a horse and explore the largest beach in the area, Long Beach (not the most imaginative name, we know). The stables have horses suitable for all abilities, so whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced rider, they can customize the whole experience for you.

Wine tasting and cycling tour of the Cape Winelands

Cape Winelands has stunning scenery, fascinating history and culture to discover, warm hospitality and of course, local food and wine are also quite stunning. There are several ways to immerse yourself in all that Cape Winelands has to offer: a guided tour of a car tour is a great way to sit back, relax and not worry about who will be the designated driver on the road house from wine tasting. However, doing a slightly slower pace on a cycling tour of the vineyards can be really great. Cycling in the vineyards and taking more scenic routes between the wineries can be such a satisfying way to explore this beautiful part of the world,
